Life on the Sun

Anne warned me that people design websites then have no content to fill them. This is one of those times. Awake in the middle of the night, I took some photos, then added a few from last evening and this a.m. So, here’s a look Inside and Outside My Little Piece of the Sun. Whenever I travel now, I toast David with his favorite, an Old Fashioned. This one, in the Explorer’s Lounge on Deck 7 [of 8], didn’t have enough muddled fruit. The next one, at a different bar on a different deck, was perfectly muddled. By that point, so was I.

Can’t recall its official name but it’s where they show movies some evenings. Saw ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ the other night.

Aft, with the infinity pool. This ship is underpooled, but that’s OK. No water slides, no kids, no casinos.

But lots of books for borrowing. Every seating area has its own library of carefully curated titles.

Back in the room, this is on the immaculate turned-down bed:

> The map doesn’t help without city names for determining which Time Zone we’re in. By this morning I’d finally determined we were near Chihuahua. >

Middle-of-the-night browsing:

Though the weather has been the same for more than two weeks, we have to check it every morning to find out if we need to take umbrellas as defense against the rain or against the sun.

Morning has broken and the deck crews are out pushing back the sea. I’ve also seen crew touching up the railing varnish on a ship that was launched only 6 weeks ago!

I worked up such an appetite swabbing those decks, I treated myself to ‘Vafler’ at the Nordic Deli. Though the coffee was not good, the waffle hit the spot. Several in fact. #
