‘Mayday’ on the High Seas

Many of you, but maybe not all, have heard or read the news about our sister ship, the Viking Sky, which was in distress off the coast of Norway and issued a ‘Mayday’ call on Saturday.

Btw: ‘Mayday’ comes from the French M’aidez! or ‘Help me!’

Though there were some injuries (broken bones and cuts and scrapes), there was no loss of life. A member of my Trivia team has a friend who was on the Sky and was one of the 463 people airlifted by helicopter. Viking is scrambling to fly everyone home from Norway.
