End of the road: Blighty!
Technical difficulty — trying once again to go live with this.
Wouldn’t you know: After all the technical difficulties I've suffered through,
I'd get a glitch on the last actual cruise post!
May 4-5, 2018
After two days at sea — 48 hours to obsess about packing — I arrived at the port of Greenwich, where I met my dear cousins Laurie and Patricia, who drove up from Kent to have lunch and give me packing advice.
Way back in January, I had met another Nash cousin, Joan, and her husband, in LA. We’d spent a great day together at the Getty. Now, full circle, I met these two darlings. (Laurie and I ‘met’ on Facebook early in ’17, when I was planning a trip to the U.K.)
We took a long walk around the Old Royal Naval College, had a traditional pub lunch, and bid a fond adieu.
Next day, last day: After claiming our bags shoreside (now that was fun!)...
... our nice driver took advantage of the empty Saturday 6:30 a.m. streets and took a spin through downtown London...
... en route to Heathrow and... (sigh) home.
Though England was the end of the road, there will be one or two more posts to wrap up Passepartout Parts One & Two: Around the World in 144 Days.
Thank you all for keeping me company. I have truly loved having you along!
What next? I’ll let you all know when Passepartout Part Three: Around the World in 128 Days hits the airwaves!
