Cambodia — Another, Nicer Look

March 25, 2018

I was pretty hard on Cambodia in my original posts. Sihanoukville was hot, crowded, dusty, and our first stop, the vast covered market, was so crammed with people trying desperately to make a living, I found it very sad. The average income per capita per annum is $2,600, making this one of the poorest countries in the world. So this time, I’ll try to be more positive.

Their buses are colorful and their alphabet is beautiful.

Their bus interiors are opulent.

Cambodia is famous for its jade.

Shoes are in ample supply.

There are transportation options.

The Wat Krom Buddhist temple (wat means temple) is beautiful.

They have a large, colorful fishing fleet.

In the fishing village... the daughter was a bit shy with all the attention from Vikings, but her mother seemed pleased.

The colors remind me of Winslow Homer’s Caribbean paintings. #
